I’m constantly asked, “What do you like to photograph?” The answer is easy. I love to capture the simple beauty in all things – from people and their special moments to places and interesting objects. Through the lens, everyone and everything tells a story.
I was introduced to photography at an early age. My father worked for Polaroid and he always brought home the latest gadget to test. I can still remember my Dad coming to Career Day in second grade and letting my classmates take photographs of one another using the Colorpack ii instant camera. That day ignited my love of looking through the lens. Suddenly I realized the power of capturing the spirit of a moment or a space, and the magic of finding beauty in the most unexpected places.
I’m the mom of three amazingly different, spirited and gorgeous kids. I am in awe of them each and every day. I am the wife to my best friend and biggest supporter. They are and will always be my favorite subjects. I truly believe fun and a good laugh can be had in any situation.
I graduated from Denison University with a B.A. in Communication. I spent over ten years as a publicist for consumer-goods companies such as New Balance, Time Inc., and Ben & Jerry’s. I constantly hired professionals to photograph events and people, and shooting on my own was just a hobby. After the birth of my second child, I finally figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up – a photographer! So with that as my goal and the support of my family, I went back to school and studied photography at the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University.
I am blessed that I am able to do what I love and love what I do – eight years in and going strong!
I look forward to hearing your story!
